Heroes
A new play by Amit Gupta
Leicester Haymarket Theatre, Leicester, UK (2001)

Gladys McPhee's Surprise Birthday Party
Site Specific Performance, scripted Alison Davis/Jo Clayton
Museum Of…, London, UK (2001)

A site specific production set in a kitsch bar created in a derelict warehouse at the Museum Of… A group of characters converge for a celebration of a mythical patron of the arts - the legendary grand dame of the London Arts Scene: Gladys McPhee. As Gladys fails to show they slowly begin to realise that the woman they knew and loved was maybe not quite as she seemed. The performance grew out of extensive character exploration and combined scripted passages with improvisation, audience interaction and alcohol.

Livinginsin
Passionfruit Theatre Company, scripted by Jo Clayton/Company
Lion and Unicorn, London, UK (1999)

A cross-discipline performance combining professional actors with a singer and DJ. During a 6 week rehearsal period the characters and relationships were created through an improvising/ taping and scripting process and then woven together with the live musical ideas provided by the musicians. The result was a highly charged mix of theatrical story, experimental drum and bass and jazz standards; an urban love story with musical ghosts.
